Information

Beginner and intermediate camps

We will teach the beginners the movement of the pieces and the special rules to the checkmate.  To do this, we may use computer software and chess games.

The intermediate students will learn the basics of the opening, the middle game and the end game.  We will do this using various exercises and rated games.

Advanced camps

Our main objective is to give the more advanced students a solid introduction to the theory behind chess.  Mainly the material, spatial and temporal advantages, so they may exploit these in their future games.

We will use audio visual hardware as well as various exercises.  The students will have the opportunity to face each other at the end of the camp, to put their new knowledge of the game to practice, in a small rated tournament.  We will also analyse a few of the student's games, in order to spot and correct as many mistakes as we can find.  Finally, the best games of the tournament will be presented and explained in front of all the students.
